Why is that when we are presented with a gift by either our partners, friends, family etc. we are always eager to know the worth of it.
After unwrapping, we get either thrilled at it or mundane. Then whoops the next thing that comes to our mind is… ‘ to know how much this cost?’
O Google is always a saver lol😂. If we find nothing tangible we start to ask close parties if they have an idea on how much it’s sold, Some of us even go to the extent of entering gift stores around to see if we can peek on the price.
More than half the time, when we discover it is ‘expensive’ we get so happy and begin to ‘handle with care’. if it’s a knock off, we feel insulted most times. We refuse to cherish it and very likely we change our perspective about the person who gifted us.
What should really matter in my opinion is that it is a ‘gift‘ . Gifts are special and rare to come by. They do not have to be too expensive to make an impact.
Instead of getting eager to know the price of a gift, why not divert such eagerness to see through the heart it came from. Sure you must have gifted someone before, let me ask, was it easy getting the perfect gift? You get soooo confused dont you?😳😳.
Let’s learn to appreciate gifts OK!
